We (the younger three kids and I) are enjoying this holiday weekend. Thursday night we dropped James and the boys (along with another friend of ours) off for a four day hike (about 30 miles). Unfortunately, the trip took much longer than expected and we didn't get home until midnight. I drove over eight hours (there and back), which is a lot for me, especially being as pregnant as I am. God answered our prayers and got us home safely and without too much difficulty.
We were home around 12:30 a.m. and the kids didn't sleep in on Saturday morning. At the moment I'm pretty exhausted. Yesterday the kids and I went shopping all day with my mother-in-law. We had a nice time. I picked out my birthday present, which was bath mats and towels for our master bedroom in our new house. That is something I wanted to have when we move in.
Today, we're just hanging around, getting some stuff done. I got the car seat ready for the baby and I lugged the suitcase upstairs so that I can't start thinking about packing for the hospital. Yesterday was my OB appointment and nothing is happening. I'm not dialated at all, and that's fine with me, since James can't be reached by cell phone. As of yesterday, I have three weeks until my due date. I'm hoping not to go into labor for about two more weeks, and I don't expect I will.
This morning we went out to the house to do some cleaning up outside. The weather is so cool and comfortable and that makes it nice to be outside picking up trash. The painter was there, painting the living room area. I'm not sure if he'll get done this weekend or not, but the flooring should be able to begin Monday, as planned. Our garage doors are in and the garage is basically finished, as far as it is going to be for now. We plan to do more to finish it later.
Next weekend I hope to take some video of the house so you can get an idea of the layout. I'll try and post some pictures from the hike too. Oh ya, one more thing. We have these two cats. Both were up in the wheel well of Paw-Paw's truck this morning. One made it out with a leg injury. One didn't make it out until Lee got to town. He is pretty bad, but still alive. We're not sure what to do about it. As I look out the window, I see he's still breathing. One leg is broke for sure and we're not sure about the other lets. It is the kid's favorite one, so I guess we'll just try to help it as best we can. The boys will be sad when they come home. We hope to get more kittens soon. We started with four kittens and we're down to two, and soon maybe one. I hope we can do better with the next batch.
