Our Day Off Yesterday

With spring break this week we changed our schedule a bit, but still did school. Yesterday we spent the day out together. First we went to two different parks and then had a picnic lunch at our camper. Half way through the day I noticed Josiah had lost his first tooth. He never even told me. He's not even sure where he lost it. He said he fell on the playground and maybe he lost it then. He's been wiggling that tooth for months, but I didn't think it was that loose. I think it is funny that he never mentioned this momentus occasion. Jay hasn't even lost his top front teeth yet.

Here's the outside pictures of the camper that some of you were asking to see. We've made a couple trips there, bringing stuff to start moving into it. We are getting excited.

After our picnic we went for a hike together. Jesse rode on my back and we walked to the river and back. It took a good two hours and must have been at least two miles. Rachel did good considering we walked up a steep hill and across a mowed down corn field. It was a good workout.
Tomorrow the three oldest are participating in AWANA games. Then in the afternoon James and the boys will take another load of boxes to the office. The packing is coming along nicely. I still have three weeks, which will be plenty of time to finish it all up.

Jesse Graduated

It seems Jesse has now graduated from toilets to sinks. I'd say that's a step up. In the last two days, I realized he wasn't around and this is where I found him. He seems to think it is great fun. I think it is a lot better than pulling things out of the toilet bowl that one of his siblings have left behind. Or sometimes he dips toilet paper in the toilet for a drink. Yeah, pretty gross. In a house with this many bathroom users, it is hard to keep the door shut all the time. Hopefully now we are passing through that stage. Instead of lifting up the seat, he climbs on it. None of our other kids were quite so facinated with the the bathroom as Jesse has been.

Our Soon to be Home...For a While Anyways

Here it is! We found it when we shopped on Saturday. The price was right at $7500. It is a 1999, but it is in great shape. I'm excited about moving into it. We are planning on picking it up on Saturday.

The New Office...

Here it is, James' new office, just down the street from the old one.

This is his office that he shares with his Dad. His Dad has been so busy with setting things up that he hasn't had time to set his own desk up yet. James is all settled in his desk though.
Here's the nurses' station.

Here's a patient room. There are four of them. I couldn't take a picture of the waiting room because there were patients waiting in it. The weather over the weekend was perfect for the move and we had lots and lots of help. It all went smoothly and the office is now mostly set up. We even moved some stuff over on Saturday from our garage that I had already packed. (The office has storage space that we are making good use of.)
Other things going on:
*Today I went to my first OB visit (12 weeks). I heard the heartbeat and the doctor thought I seemed right on as far as size for 12 weeks.
*This weekend we have our two nieces (Susan's) staying with us. Should be a busy, tiring weekend. I'm already tired and the weekend has barely begun.
*Tomorrow we are going RV shopping. We are going to be looking for either a travel trailer or 5th wheel. We are planning on selling it after we are done, and hopefully in the end it won't cost too much.

The Baby is Coming

Bob and Sarah set up their own blog and you can follow it if you want. You can find it under my blog list.
James moves his office today, very exciting. The three older boys and I are going to go help later this morning.

Update from Bob

I thought I'd post Bob's (my brother's) email from last night so that those who want to keep up with what's going on can. They should be doing the c-section tomorrow.

"Today, or rather yesterday, was a busy day of visiting and talking on the phone. The nurses were somewhat surprised with how much Sarah talks. I told them this is nothing, she is on vacation compared to what it is like at home. Many family and close friends stopped by to share some time with us, which was good. It was nice to see people processing the news with us. It is really important to us that people are looking to God for answers as to how to process this aweful circumstance.Sarah did not have to go through any procedures today, although she had to get a few more shots. She got her last dose of steriod for the baby, which was the worst of it. She was crying before in anticipation. After the shot went in and came out she said, "Are You Done! (with tears in her eyes)." When I and the nurse told her she all done, she said "Oh it wasn't that bad (comparitively)."Tomorrow should be even more relaxed. We are anticipating fewer visitors and less shots (just 2).As we are learning to go to God for answers, or at least comfort during this trying time, we are prayful that all of you will also go to God for answers and comfort. Trust me when I say we are as concerned for all of you as we are for ourselves. It is most critical to us that you seek God in this time of trial. We have complete faith that God is fighting this battle for us, so we are just trying to BE STILL."

Pray for Sarah

Many of you have already heard that my brother, Bob's wife, Sarah, was diagnosed with cancer last night. She has a tumor in her hip and it is malignant. We were sure hoping for better news. She is also 34 weeks pregnant. They are doing a c-section on Thurs. or Fri. and she is having surgery on her hip next Wed. (a hip replacement). Then after she recovers from it all (about 3 weeks), she faces 9 months of chemotherapy. We are all shocked and saddened by all this, but we know God is in control of it all. Bob and Sarah seem to be holding up pretty well and trusting that God know what He's doing. Bob and Sarah also have a 5 and almost 3 year old. Please keep them in your prayers.

They are specifically asking for prayer for the following:
-Sarah femur holds for as long as needed.
- God brings the baby up to speed (maturally - steriods to the trick)
- God prepares the baby for the c-section.
- Doctors have wisdom and God given insight into Sarah and baby's health needs.
- Cancer has not spread.
- Doctors can remove all cancer from femur.
- Sarah has quick recovery from surgeries.
- Sarah can breast-feed the baby for as long as possible (one month) before chemotheropy.
- We get to see our kids soon and know what to say and when to say it.
- In all things Sarah and I maintain STILL, trusting that this battle does not belong to us. We are not to fight but let God be our advocate and defender. Thanks you for bringing these concerns to our Heavenly Father in prayer.
